Why Horses

Through the eyes of a horse... there is no judgment, no "should", no "have to", no question of your worthiness. They see who you really are, and accept you. This fosters immediate trust, allowing you to hear feedback from them that you may not accept from another human. In this way, they are uniquely able to accelerate and deepen your growth.

Horses thrive in highly organized and complex herds. Because their survival depends on being part of that unit they are acutely aware and able to intuit the emotional states of those around them.

Modern humans value linear and logical thought patterns, training ourselves to ignore our innate wisdom. Disconnected from the abundance of information available through all of our senses, we make limiting decisions. It can also lead to feeling overwhelmed with life and powerless to change.

Horses make decisions using their innate wisdom, offering a model in stark contrast to our own. This creates a unique setting for deep and profound learning. For instance, they will tell you when you are acting with integrity, respect and inspiration.

Their organizational structures are very similar to our own. This enables them to effectively mirror, not only our emotions and intentions, but also our hierarchies. Herd survival depends on the right horses being in the right positions and each horse establishes their role. Constant challenging ensures finely honed skills, including team dynamics and leadership.

You practice interacting within complex dynamics that mirror human relationships with the advantage of honest, real-time feedback. You are able to explore new skills, and practice them to effectively integrate them into your life.

Humans have long honored the horse as a powerful, spirited creature. Some have seen horses as mystical archetypes and magical souls; all have been inspired by their grace and beauty, captivated by their freedom and spirit, and intoxicated by their speed and power.

We have the profound opportunity to expand our comprehension beyond our linear lens and to learn to walk in the world with greater balance.
